Quarantzine
EDITORIAL • PRINT DESIGN
Quarantzine is a zine sharing stories from people around the world living in quarantine in light of the COVID-19 crisis. You can get a taste of issue #1 by viewing it digitally here and printed copies are available via our online shop this way.
In issue #1, those we hear from include a teacher in New York City, who delivered personal protective equipment to frontline workers in her community, and a photographer in Kuwait who captured scenes from his window. Issue #2 features a cruise ship member stuck at sea between Miami and Orlando who volunteered to DJ for colleagues, and co-founder of ustwo, who is content more than ever working from his home studio in London.
By uncovering these unique perspective, we highlight that there is no right or wrong or normal way to deal with quarantine. Featured on We Heart, Design Week, Stack and Royal Docks.
Thank you to our contributors who took the time to share their stories from quarantine and to our friends for connecting us.
The cover design for issue #1 was inspired by the International Maritime Signal Flag ‘Lima’, which is flown from ships at sea placed under quarantine.
Quarantzine was created remotely and interviews were conducted via email, video call and social media. Photos were submitted by contributors, who were given an open brief to share snapshots of their quarantine experience.
